While engagement rings once symbolized ownership, today they symbolize partnership and commitment.
In a society where every kind of love is celebrated, it makes sense that tradition evolves.

Why not choose a green, pink , purple or other coloured stone for your engagements?

Although we do work directly with ethical gemstone miners around the world, we always suggest to explore the large choice of natural coloured sapphires for engagement such as green saphires we buy directly from mines in Sri Lanka and Madagascar.

Top three mineral species for your engagement ring

The Diamond
Hardness = 10/10

It has only been 100 years since we found the perfect way to bringing out the diamond’s brilliance, sparkle and fire in the best possible way. Previously the stone was not as attractive and coloured stones were prefered.

 It became the traditional engagement stone after a 20th century advertising campaing by De Beers
"A diamond is forever"

The shiny little minerals can be found in white, yellow, brown, black but also occasionnaly orange, pink, blue, red and green.

The Sapphire & Ruby
Hardness = 9/10

Historically, people have used other types of jewellery and gemstones to celebrate their engagement, such as the sapphire symbolizing romantic love, truth, and commitment as well as the ruby said to represent desire through their rich red color.

Blue, green, pink, violet, yellow, orange and many other coloured sapphires exist which could be part of your beautiful unique engagement ring making you as special as you are!

The Emerald
Hardness = 7.5/10

The emerald once represented gods and goddesses in older cultures and carried sacred religious significance. Giving an emerald for engagements is like wishing for luck, peace, and longevity in your soon-to-be marriage

This last one remaining very fragile due to its crystal structure and not ideal on an everyday ring, even if at the top of the Moh's scale.
